⚠️ Invisible Killer: Contaminated Water is Destroying Families in Pakistan! 🚨

Today, tragically, around 50,000 children in Pakistan lose their lives annually due to the devastating lack of access to clean water. This grim reality inflicts unbearable pain and sorrow upon mothers and fathers, who are left shattered by the loss of their precious children.

Every day, women and children walk for hours in the sun to fetch water. But what they receive is far from what they deserve. Muddy water is shared by animals and contaminated with life-threatening diseases like cholera, typhoid and polio.

Every day, women and children walk for hours in the sun to fetch water. But what they receive is far from what they deserve. Muddy water is shared by animals and contaminated with life-threatening diseases like cholera, typhoid and polio.

How can these water-deprived children go to school? How can they plan for a better life when every day is a struggle for survival when they face frequent diarrhea and dehydration? And how can mothers cook for their families with dirty, muddy water? Water, a fundamental human right, has become a daily battle for survival.

This profound tragedy forces families to live in constant fear and affects millions in deep poverty, especially those in rural Pakistan. They are left to fend for themselves and struggle for survival every day. In just the last few years, the situation has become even more desperate, and the suffering is immense for young children and women due to extreme weather as a consequence of global warming.

You Can Make a Difference to Help the Vulnerable

Humaniti is launching a campaign to raise money for 50 solar-powered OASIS Boxes to provide clean water for 250,000  of the most desperate in rural Pakistan. To do this, we want to raise $250,000 in the next two months. This donation is Zakat eligible, and the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said: “The best form of charity is to give someone water (to drink)” (reported by Ibn Majah).

A modest monthly recurring donation of just $25 can make a life-changing impact. With your generosity, we can provide clean, safe drinking water to 5 families and relieve their suffering. Imagine the fear you will remove from a mother seeing their children falling sick and passing away and the immense relief you can bring these desperate children and their communities. Please give as much as you can. Your reward with Allah SWT is immense.

As Muslims, We Answer to a Higher Authority

Allah, in His infinite mercy, consistently emphasizes the importance of assisting those in need. He goes to the extent of stating that righteousness cannot be achieved without giving sufficient charity (Quran 3:92). However, in today's fast-paced world inundated with media; we often become desensitized to the hardships endured by the less fortunate.

Nevertheless, it is crucial to remember that their suffering is unimaginable, and even a small contribution from our wealth can bring about a significant change in Islam, a beautiful religion characterized by love, care, and mercy for others. Allah SWT assures us that whatever we give in charity is like a loan to Him, promising to multiply and return it with a noble reward (Quran 57:18). This further adds to the beauty of Islam, as every act of empathy and caring for our fellow brothers and sister increases our abundance and blessings from Allah SWT. Uplifting the vulnerable members of our society is the golden rule in Islam; as the Prophet (PBUH) said, "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Sahih Bukhari).

"You will not attain righteousness until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it." (Quran 3:92)

"Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward." (Quran 57:18) 🤲

We Leverage the Most Advanced Technology to End Suffering

We are leveraging the most advanced technology: the OASIS Box brings a submersible water pump, life-saving bacteria filters, and a unique data tracking system into a single, transportable unit. Each Box can be deployed in 7 minutes (on a water source) and provides up to 10,000 litres of 99.9% bacterial-free clean water daily for years. This is enough drinking water for 5,000 people every single day.

"My wife and oldest child spend hours on Saturdays, and sometimes the whole day, in the spring, washing clothes. They have to wait there for the clothes to dry since they are too heavy to carry when they are wet."

"We face so many challenges, my children have not really had the time to play and simply be children

"When I think of having water, it is like a dream," he says. "My children would not have to wake up at 4 am to collect water before school. Washing clothes can be done at home. My cows will have enough to drink, which may even increase their milk production. We will also have more time to work on the farm."

"Sometime back before this good water came, people used to have diarrhea all the time, malaria, and other sicknesses,"

We would at times fall sick, and whenever there were prolonged periods of drought, we would be fatigued from walking long distance

How is my Zakat money spent? Who is it spent on?

The Zakat donations that we receive from our donors are distributed among Zakat eligible patients for whichever treatment they are receiving from Indus Health Network facilities.

What are your guidelines for distributing Zakat Donations?

The Indus Hospital provides quality care without any discrimination, free of cost through the support of your Zakat and Donations.

With the help of reputable Sharia Scholars, The Indus Hospital (TIH) has developed a criterion to ascertain if Zakat is applicable to a certain individual. Whenever a patient visits the Indus Hospital, he/she goes through the assessment with TIH’s welfare officer to determine if the patient is eligible for Zakat or not.

Once the recipient of Zakat is identified, their MR number is marked to signify that the patient’s treatment should be supported from Zakat account. The patient is requested to sign a declaration granting the Indus Hospital permission to collect Zakat on their behalf and to use that Zakat to sponsor the treatment of his/her and/or other patients or hospital requirements. Once the patient is discharged, hospital generates an internal bill and sends it to the Zakat Committee for settlement.
